Me thinks they think that they think too much.

Warning: Spoilers
Poor screenwriting forces the viewer to read minds and see what the two leading characters are all about before a story even starts. All most people will find are two very valid thoughtless people breaking up and doing everything but skywritting their plans over Manhattan so everyone in the West Village can read and post their comments on line. By being in the West Village is supposed to paint them as artistic, eccentric bohemians, but nothing about them makes them worth spending 90 minutes with.

Daryl Wein directs himself and Zoe Lister as the leads, with a few veteran actors (Julie White and Andrea Martin) for older folks to be interested, but the narcissism of the two characters who dominate makes for painful viewing and only justifies a generation gap. You wonder if they went as far in getting together as they do in trying to break up. The overdone vocal fry is another painful reason to stay away. Nothing upwards about this except my depression in realizing that this is the wave of movies of the future.
