What a brilliant film for a cosy night in.
Although I have not watched the original I really enjoy the story, I found the friendship between Adeline and Griffin intriguing and the Art Direction was absolutely beautiful. The only thing that let it down was the sound design of Griffin when he is invisible, it's quite clear this was not filmed on set and spoils the effect.
We first meet Griffin, being shouted at by his Landlord for not paying his rent, and laughing manically before disappearing before our very eyes. He has finally found the correct chemical formulation to become - The Invisible Man!
Unfortunately, his journal - the record of his success and scientific discovery - is taken and he yearns to get it back. With the help of his friend from Medical School, Adeline, he is determined to find the cure and make himself visible once again.
Overall this is a very enjoyable watch!
