SIX FLYING DRAGONS is a 50-episode saga of the end of the Goryeo dynasty into the beginnings of Joseon. I got hooked from the first episode and loved all of it. I fell in love with so many characters, whom, strangely enough, were most of the supporting ones. Mu Hyul (Yoon Kyung Sang) was my favorite, playing a total innocent bumpkin who matures (via the ravishes of war) to the best swordsman-warrior and bodyguard of the Prince at the end. Next was leading man Yi Bang Won (an amazing Yoo Ah In), who went from an inquisitive and intelligent young boy to a scholarly ambitious young man... and then almost tyrannical and psychotic full of ambition and a deep, MAD desire to change the old country of Goryeo. YAI was brilliant in his acting! I also admired actor Kim Myung Min who played Sambong...so sincere, articulate, and had a commanding presence throughout. Byun Yo Han (Lee Bang Ji) was very impressive in the beginning, playing an entertainer and sang a lovely haunting melody, to boot. But, his character became one-dimensional later on. I also wished he and Mu Hyul combed or changed their hair styles. BOTH WERE EXCELLENT IN THEIR FIGHT SCENES!! Last but not least, the two "dragons" who had one expression throughout the entire series: actress Shin Sae Kyeong (Boon Yi) and Chun Ho Jin (Yi Seong Gye/ King Taejo). The lady fighter, played by dancer Han Ye Ri, was outstanding in her acting and sword-fights. Supporting characters Ha Ryun, Sung Wook, Joon Hyuk, "grandma" Myo Sang...and much, more...LOVED them all!

The music was sometimes haunting, sometimes patriotic...all excellent! The voices were beautiful! The writers did a pretty good job combining fictional with the real story of King Taejong. Sadly, at the very last half-hour, I was hoping to see more of what he accomplished, etc. Instead of focusing on Boon Yi. VERY UNREALISTIC DEATH SCENE FOR HER. I wanted to know how the others aged, who lived; who died. They could've shown King Taejo's demise. He suddenly disappeared from the storyline. Overall, very highly recommended!!
