When ego meets humility!!
17 August 2023
This movie is a good example of "when ego weds humility" and when that happens, it will create "bawaal" for sure.

There are lot of learnings to take from this romcom. It starts with a really dramatic narration where Varun Dhawan, a school teacher, is introduced as a man who can go to any extent to maintain his image in the society, he disrespects his wife for she was a possible threat to his Mr. Perfect image.

But the story gradually takes form and becomes interesting when he is suspended from the school, his ego and smartness fail and he is taught a lesson.

The key takeaways from this film are its concept, its writing; especially the scenes shot explaining the World War II and the character of Janhvi- it's beautifully written; she tried all possible ways to make their marriage work but when her husband is suspended, not only she saves his job but also makes him realise his mistakes only this time effortlessly and now everything starts working.

It is the hard-work, patience and empathy that brings him out of all the trouble: all thanks to his wife.

All the performances are good; especially Manoj Pahwa who plays Varun Dhawan's father. I also loved the music in the film.

I would recommend this film as a sweet, simple tale that will leave you to ponder over a lot of things we say and do.
