Oppenheimer (I) (2023)
9/10
A Magnificent Piece of Cinema
21 July 2023
Oppenheimer has left a profound impact on me. The film's storytelling and character study were brilliantly executed, drawing me into the life and mind of J Robert Oppenheimer. Cillian Murphy's performance was nothing short of exceptional, bringing depth and authenticity to the character.

Visually, the film was a treat to behold. The cinematography, especially if you see it in IMAX, it adds that immersive quality that really enhanced the overall experience. The attention to detail in recreating historical settings was also commendable, making the film feel remarkably authentic.

Oppenheimer managed to strike a balance between explosive action and cerebral depth, showcasing Christopher Nolan's prowess as a filmmaker. It's a captivating blend of thought-provoking themes and enthralling storytelling, which left me contemplating the implications long after the credits rolled.

While the film had many strengths, I think that it could have been even more impactful if some of the female characters like Jean Tatlock had a bit more character development. This aspect felt somewhat lacking and deserved more attention in my opinion.

Overall though, Oppenheimer is a magnificent piece of cinema that stands out as one of Christopher Nolan's best works. It's a film that engages the mind and emotions, and which will leave a lasting impression.
