A 30-Minute Penultimate?
19 July 2023
I honestly don't know what's happening in this show anymore. Not that I knew before or anything, but I just don't know what they are trying to do or what the point is.

First of all, I don't understand why they don't just stick with a fixed runtime. If you want your show to be only half an hour per episode, then do it, lots of shows do that like Barry and they're great. But what's with the 55, 40 and 36-minute episodes when you only have 6 episodes as a whole?

Do they have so little material and story to work with that the last three episodes of the series are only 30 minutes?

Why not make a tv movie when you have the means to do so and also somehow don't have enough story for even merely 6 episodes?

For anyone who somehow can't understand why people are not enjoying this show and think it's terrible, I implore you to rewatch this show as soon as it ends. Binge the whole thing to see how little story there is, how little characterization there is, how bad the storytelling and the writing is, and how bad the villain is.

These episodes are supposed to be build-ups for the finale and to get you hyped, but I didn't see any build-up. I do not care for any character or what's going on. When you have this few episodes, this bafflingly short runtime, and a pretty awful pacing, it's almost impossible to make compelling characters who the audience care about. The only episode that managed to actually managed to grab my attention was the previous one and that's it.

The pacing is just downright horrendous and just like every single other MCU show, the finale is rushed once again.

These writers don't really know how to write a weekly show and these shows are meant to be binge-watched, but Disney gotta Disney and release them weekly. They think if they do that people don't notice how badly the shows are written. There isn't much story progression for each episode and it's really laughable that most of these episodes feel like filler. That's why this shouldn't be a weekly released show. It's like a movie cut down to six episodes instead of an actual mini-series with compelling storytelling for each episode.

Disney is just a big endless trash-making machine. Nothing that comes out of Dinsey Plus' MCU side or even Star Wars side aside from Andor is gonna be worth watching. All Disney spent its money on is fancy actors and that's all. Who needs good writing when people keep buying subscriptions anyway.
