I haven't seen mention of how frequently the cast members have changed, from the WPC, around whom the series was written to the DI--one for every season. And, they slipped in a new Mrs Briggs, hoping no one would notice. The chief inspector from the first season also left quite quickly. I wonder why all the recasts. The show itself seems to try too hard at being edgy. Surely, these times weren't all dark, corruption around every corner? And, do we really expect that the original WPC was dumb enough to try something on with the first inspector...who was married? And, then, she sleeps with a nightclub owner involved in an investigation in which he is a suspect? And, where did her parents go? Where did her boyfriend go? No resolution--just written out of the show. Finally, we learn that she has been transferred to the Met? Not believable.
