(1978) Straight Time
THRILLER
Based on a novel written by Edward Bunker called "No Beast So Fierce" which has an excellent first half but very forgettable second, starring Dustin Hoffman as Max, which after making attempts in rehabilitating his life, he gets hounded and harassed by his parole officer, Earl Frank (M. Emmet Walsh) he then gets pulled back into bank robberies again with his pals, Jerry Schue (Harry Dean Stanton) and Willy (Gary Busey) as his getaway driver, which is conventional with no new surprises. Great performance by Hoffman but not memorable enough to save this film.
According to imdb Dustin Hoffman also served as co-producer and co-director but was uncredited.
