Review of Forever's End

Forever's End (2013)
4/10
Not enough plot

Warning: Spoilers
This movie starts out interesting and continues as such all the way through, until it ends and the viewer realizes they've once again been left to try to figure out what really happened.

What we have, without doubt, is a girl who is insane. That much we learn. We also learn why. The entire rest of the plot: the imaginary sister (or is she?), the stalker (is he, or is he a friend, or a total figment of her imagination?), the guy she supposedly shot but probably didn't unless she did... c'mon people, give us a break. YOU'RE supposed to be the writers, not the audience.

I enjoyed the acting, by everyone. They were convincing in their parts. I especially liked Lili Reinhart who played the imaginary? Sister / alternate personality / who knows? Lili did a great job portraying the part-- whatever that part was supposed to be.

In the end we're left pretty much doubting everything that happened, realize that the entire movie was all in her head, and here's this crazy girl walking armed into a city with a loaded pistol (yeah boy!). But the movie really says nothing, presents no actual "real" clues for the audience to piece together. We are instead stuck with yet another "What just happened here?" premise... and not nearly enough plot to actually solve the mystery.

Perhaps that was the director's intent: make the audience feel as confused as the main character. If so, YOU SUCCEEDED. And I want my two hours back.
