8/10
Dated in parts, but still funny and touching!

I had not seen this movie in some time, but then bought the DVD for myself. Oh,Bonnie Bedelia was SO YOUNG! And Michael Brandon was such a hottie! GREAT writing, great ensemble acting. My only quibble, and this keeps me from givingit 10 out of 10 stars, is the bits with Wilma and Johnny. I had forgotten that he hits her, and he implies that he has hit her before. She then says it is all her fault and begs hmto forgive her. Her need to beg and abase herself and put up with the abuse really bothers me. That and her repeated use of the term "fag." Otherwise, I loved it - the scenes where Frank really pushes through his comfort zone and tries to open up to Riitchie - so moving. Had me in tears. And he and Beatrice at the end - there is some bond there. We're all strangers, just deeper strangers." AND OF COURSE, at the reception, Joan walks into the banquet room - and we see the beginning of Diane Keaton's film career.
