Why the bad reviews? 'Perfect Match' currently has a 6.0 rating, which is a mystery to me. I suspect it's due to McKellar's too perfect rendition of a woman with excess emotional baggage.

The romance is on point, Jessica (McKellar) and Adam (Green) have an affinity for each other just the way I like it. Both bring their "A" game with all the fear, yearning, doubts...the good stuff that makes for an entertaining love story. Their passion is real and I feel some angst within myself just watching them interact. This is what I expect in a romantic film. 'Perfect Match' in a small way inspires and fosters a desire for something better, an adventure of love. Hint: credit the music for half of the goodness.

Jessica's son Luke adds a crucial element to the story, a young boy who has hopes and dreams, while having the wherewithal to look out for his mom and her needs too. The depth of his character and how he portrays an athletic and inquisitive pre-teen, is refreshing.

The supporting cast are not robots, they actually have separate personalities, which is a nice change of pace.

This is a high quality movie with great acting, cinematography, writing, directing and ambience. I'd surmise that Hallmark doesn't make 'em like this anymore...
