Review of Plan B

Plan B (2023– )
4/10
Frustratingly Toxic

Warning: Spoilers
Based on the first two episodes.

This show wants me to dislike Phillip. The description even labels him as "controlling" when he's not really. I would describe him as laser focused on work. He's trying very hard to get land a big deal, get his house renovated for his girlfriend, and keep his brother from falling off the wagon. His girlfriend and his business partner are both bad at communication and just terrible people.

Once he finds out that she is unhappy, he does everything he can to try to fix it. He genuinely cares about her. She comes off as an unforgiving and selfish person. Every time he does something she just asks for more. Phillips business partner just sets up meetings and does things behind his back.

By the second episode, it just turned into "people pleasing" the TV show. I wanted him to just let her walk away and let the business fail. He's surrounded by toxic people and the show wants me to believe he's the one with the problem.

He was arrogant at times and he didn't pick up on the cues from his girlfriend that she was unhappy. He made mistakes and he's working on fixing that. She was pregnant and didn't tell him, she was drinking while pregnant, she cheated on him, she decides she wants a cello when she knows they are in massive debt, she can't wait a week before starting up her music career, she gets mad at him over a text when she actually cheated. I do not feel sorry for her in the slightest.
