This is genuinely one of the best animated show of all time. I'd give it 11 stars if I could!
All I can say is stick with this show. What starts out as silly episodic romps becomes an incredible, elaborate, sweeping, storyline jam packed with adventure and heart. The tone change is handled really well in my opinion, and the characters are written and portrayed with such conviction and caring that you don't even realizing you're falling in love with them until it's too late. And the music! It's masterfully orchestrated and elevates the story beyond imagination. And don't even get me started on the animation; it's absolutely PHENOMENAL, and one of its greatest strengths. Every single season I'm thinking, "there's no way they can top this" and then they do!
Whatever LEGO set out to do when they created this show definitely worked. Congrats guys, I'm buying sets as we speak.
