Review of Rogues of War

The Flash: Rogues of War (2023)
Season 9, Episode 3
1/10
The Flash is missing (and no action)
23 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It sure seems like Grant Gustin does not like wearing the red suit anymore. Last week, he didn't show up in costume until 43 or so minutes in. This week, you have to wait until 51 minutes in to see, you know, the Flash. And even then, the action is short and the Flash is knocked for a loop. You would think in his ninth year doing this, the writers would have let the Flash character get a little smarter about how he fights the villains. (Oh, and apparently Barry's secret identity seems to be the worst kept "secret" in Central City.)

So this is the set up for the final "epic" last episodes. Yet we still get a lot of whining and moping (Barry and Iris, Chester and Allegra, etc.) Joe and Cecile are AWOL from this episode completely, and Danielle Panabaker's new character has precious little to do (except show off the semi-blue hair).

This is not how we want to see this show end, but it is apparently what we are going to get. Season 1 started out strong, but just like another Berlanti series (Supergirl), the quality kept slipping away each season. So by the time the final season wraps up, the audience is left with a collective "FINALLY" (and not in a good way).
