Everything here works. The acting is top notch, the set design is great, and the soundtrack is just perfect (love you Gustavo). But when directly stacked against the game, too much of what makes the story substantial is left out here. The Last of Us Part 1 is already quite a streamlined story, and everything is there for a reason. Cutting in down for the sake of time feels like a little bit of a disservice. This adaptation is still great, but I feel that it's going from plot point to plot point too fast, and I wish it had more time to breathe. More episodes could have really helped that issue.
