I don't know what movie the other reviewers (or the celebrities raving about this on twitter) saw, but this was typical Hollywood dreck with a one note performance. I'd say the Academy had the wool pulled over there eyes with this one. The plot was your basic redemption story (insert vice here) with a feel good ending. Realistic?? Not for a single moment. It did start out somewhat interestingly I must say, but once it hit upon that formula, it spiraled down fast. If it had the courage to actually see this story through, it might have meant something. But this is just a Hallmark movie with bad language and shots of whiskey.
