The 1993 version of "Corazón salvaje" is the best telenovela adaptation of the famous novel of the same name written by Caridad Bravo Adams. The perfectly adapted script by María Zarattini is full of drama and tension, as well as round characters. The cast is masterfully selected, Edith González and Eduardo Palomo played the leading couple demonstrating excellent chemistry, in addition the villains were also excellently interpreted by Ana Colchero as a woman ahead of her time but treacherous, Ariel López Padilla played a good young man who circumstances make him cruel, showing great versatility on camera, and Claudia Islas played a concerned but perverse mother, achieving one of the best performances of her career. Arsenio Campos, Ernesto Yáñez, Javier Ruán and Adalberto Parra also did notable work as villains. The rest of the cast made up of Luz María Aguilar, Enrique Lizalde, Gonzalo Sánchez, Jaime Lozano, Isaura Espinoza, Verónica Merchant, Indra Zuno, Gerardo Hemmer, Ana Laura Espinosa, Olivia Cairo, Antonia Marcín, Julio Monterde, María Dolores Oliva, etc., they interpreted supporting roles with soul and that were marked in the memory of the public. The cinematography is spectacular, exalting the beauty of the exterior locations and some great visuals of the interior locations. The costume and hairstyle design was really investigated to achieve a look from Mexico in the year 1900. The production management stood out with the period furniture, the design of the San Pedro prison, the famous ship "El Satán", the convent of the nuns and especially in the luxurious houses of the main characters. The filming locations are beautiful, filmed on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Jalisco and also in the state of Nayarit, to set the scene for the coastal town of San Pedro, which is located in the state of Veracruz in the telenovela. The soundtrack by Jorge Avendaño Lührs evokes the 1900's and achieves romantic and suspenseful compositions that are an aural delight. "Corazón salvaje" (1993) only deserves praise, an impeccable production, the best adaptation of this classic story and one of the best telenovelas of the '90s, one of the best made in Mexico and one of the best made around the world. A legendary classic!
