I stumbled upon this film on a very popular streaming giant and was in a phase where I realized that many foreign films at least especially horror films are better than American ones. I had no idea what the plot entailed just that it was told in reverse chronological order. When the most infamous scene in the movie happened I had to pause because I had not seen anything like it to tat point. At it's core it's a rape and revenge story. But again it's told backwards. Which instead of leaving you with your desire for revenge being quenched and the film ends with the main character laying in a field smiling several weeks before her attack you are left feeling dread bug in a strange way happy? I suppose because she is at least smiling as the film itself concludes. Something not many films do to me, this one brought tears to my eyes. Did not think a horror film could do that, but turns out at least one can.
