From the creators of "The Snowman" (1982) comes "Father Christmas". The film maintains the same sort of crayon chalk art style of the original. But where "The Snowman" consisted solely of visuals and music to tell the story, "Father Christmas" is fully voiced, narrated throughout by the eponymous Santa.
I do credit this film for trying to do something different than the original. (If you just want more of the same I recommend "Snowman and the Snowdog") But everything about this feels like a cheaper, lesser version of the original.
There isn't any real conflict in the story. It is just Santa going on vacation. That could be interesting, but all he seems to do is complain about the food and prices.
It's fine as festive background noise as you wrap your presents, but I can't really recommend it beyond that.
