Bull (2021)
3/10
If you don't care about the revenge-seeker, it's all a bit pointless.

I don't mind extreme violence, but I like a little bit of reality and maybe some intriguing plot. This movie is just an excuse for a series of brutal scenes. That's great if that's all you want. The main character just kills people willy-nilly, sometimes in public, and just walks away. Of course, there's certain people he can't kill, like an elderly man, until the maybe (?) the end because, you know, movie rules. (No spoiler here, I haven't seen the final 20 minutes yet, but I can't imagine there's some huge leap in quality.) He lets some people push him around for, well, movie rules, ya know, while he kills others like it's really no thing. It starts to get quite silly. Most of the situations are fairly unbelievable. The main character is just as big of an as---le as anyone else in the film so I'm not rooting for him, not sympathizing with him, and don't really care what happens to him. That's the movie's biggest flaw. I really couldn't care less. That's why, as exciting as some of the violence might be, it's all rather pointless. I love, love revenge movies. But, you've GOT to relate to the person getting the revenge. It doesn't happen here. It's just the usual ultra-violent revenge movie tropes done much better elsewhere.
