Though I have never read the book series... my 9 year old and I enjoyed watching the show together. It hard to find a good show to watch with your child! The jump scares are fun; we can't wait for another season to be announced. It's also good to learn a little about a different culture and language; though I don't know how accurate it maybe be in those terms. The characters are very relatable for kids going through the pre-teen and teenager years by showing them some resemblance of conflict and problems solving episodes. The cliffhanger was and interesting twist even though you think the bad guy was vanquished.
