Say Yes (I) (2018)
9/10
I was a bit late in coming to the party, but I'm so glad I found this amazing film.

I was totally blown away by this film. It made me think, it made me cry, it made me laugh, and it made me feel (deeply).

I'm not one to watch anything multiple times, but this one did it! I discovered this gem last week, and I've already invited friends to come and watch it with me a couple times.

I thought the acting was spot-on by all three main characters. The writing was amazing and I found it true-to-life in many ways.

Many folks may find the plot totally unrealistic. I'm not one of them. I've been on a couple hosting sites over the years, and have personally hosted over 700 international travelers in my homes. The so-called "free spirits" of Lily and Caden are not that unusual but rather more typical in this generation. They are truly able to love another for who they are, regardless of sexual "equipment".

I loved how Beau's character was developed. What I haven't read in reviews of this film is what very realistically could be going on within him on a spiritual and an energetic level. Has anyone seen the 1971 movie "Summer of '42"? It's about a teen boy who falls for an older woman. Her husband is in the war and she's notified he's been killed. She and the young man come together. His dream situation is happening while she's remembering and connecting to her lost love.

In Say Yes, Beau has gradually fallen in love with Caden because of who he is. And part of who Caden is, is his energetic connection to Lily.

This is a wonderful film, beautifully written by a man who knows life and perfectly played out by three talented actors, each with an uncanny ability to get into the skin of their characters and absolutely shine in the process.
