The acting is meh, at least there were very few Pinter pauses and weird inflections. I can't say I was a fan of the script. It kind of jumped all over the place without resolving too much. There was a hinted romance with her mom and the sheriff that never went anywhere.
They kept putting in moments that taken separately were kind of cute but felt forced. However, what led me tobspeak up was the rushed ending. There was a scene where at the last minute a new conflict was introduced and then it cuts to a later book signing with zero explanation about how the conflict was resolved. I wasn't expecting much from a two bit romance but just adding a conflict you didn't intend to resolve is a bit embarrassing.
