Accident Man (2018)
7/10
Great writing, but the directing fell short.

This is a great concept and is Scott Adkins' calling. The story is a refreshing addition to the hitman genre and was well cast and performed considering the poor cast direction. Most of the dialogue was missing the tonal urgency, even Adkins' narrating, but again, that's the fault of Jesse V. Johnson's failure from inexperience to direct his cast properly. Even some of the fight choreography was a little off - not from the lack of any fight skills, just not proper photography direction. The 105 min runtime was filled with the right amount of substance with a welcoming back-story, and the pacing was spot-on. This is certainly Adkin's best writing credit, as well as one of my favorite lead roles for him. It was also great to see MJW in action with Adkins. I can't wait to see part two, and hope they keep this franchise going.
