Warning: Spoilers
I saw Lyle Lyle Crocodile, starring Javier Bardem-Being the Ricardos, Skyfall; Constance Wu-Fresh Off the Boat_tv, Eastsiders_tv; Winslow Fegley-8_Bit Christmas, Come Play and the voice of Shawn Mendes-Hollymation_tv, The 100_tv.

This is a family friendly movie that is based on a children's book from 1965. Javier plays a down on his luck entertainer-magician, singer, whatever is needed etc,-that comes across a singing crocodile, voiced by Shawn. He decides to put Shawn in his act and go on the road and make millions with him but there is a problem. Shawn has stage fright and freezes on stage the first night. Javier decides to go on the road by himself and leaves Shawn in the attic of his house and tells him that he will be back soon. Well, it's not soon and a new family move into the house. Constance is the mother and Winslow is her son. Winslow discovers Shawn-of course-and becomes friends with him but Shawn has to hide from any prying eyes. The only way Shawn can communicate is by singing-he doesn't just talk-so all his songs fit into the narrative of the story. There is a nosy and grumpy neighbor that keeps trying to stir up trouble, too.

It's rated PG for some mild peril and has a running time of 1 hour & 46 minutes.

It's not one that I would buy on DVD but it would be a good rental for the whole family to watch.
