trying to be quirky
3 October 2022
Mr. Wallendorf (Ron Perlman) is a demented, murderous, shoe magnate. He only makes red lady's shoes and commercials with seemingly real murders which actually are. His spoiled daughter Jennifer (Vanessa Marano) is a social-media delinquent princess. She and her boyfriend hang out at an underground club where they befriend a lady gang. The gang robs a truck expecting Wallendorf shoes, but finds it filled with ramen noodles. Wallendorf wife (Natasha Henstridge) actually hid $6 billion gold in the ramen noodles and is beside herself when it goes missing.

Adam Sherman is an outsider filmmaker. He's trying very hard to be quirky here. He lacks the budget and probably the skills to pull it off. Everybody is trying to be fun and darkly quirky. The writing needs to be funnier. The set and costume designers are throwing a lot on the screen, but it all feels a bit trying. This movie is trying so hard.
