Difficult. I liked many scenes of this, I love the concept and many memories are great and make you think about them and life in general.
The third act - as usual with Kore-eda - is great, but I feel that with this concept, this could have been much stronger. I felt cold for most of the duration and that is weird considering the other films of the director. I think the main issue is that we usually have a connection with only 1 or 2 characters in all his other films, but in this one, everything was too dispersed and only past the half we can see some focus on some specific characters.
Am I being too demanding because this is a Kore-eda film? Possible. Again, there are great scenes, the acting is great and is as thoughtful as provocative. However, I was not totally blown away.
