I expected more flying.. whether in a plane or the bird learning to fly but instead there was a bird that was injured and yet could fly up 15 stories into her apartment and a neighbour who wishes he was a pilot and pretends to be one in a commercial. I found the main character very annoying, why did she need to randomly sing? She said her mom was a dancer so I guess that's to explain her random dancing that didn't make any sense? I think she dances like that in all her movies. The dog and bird are very cute - the only parts I liked. The doorman is the Canadian tires commercial guy and I kept thinking he was going to sell us something from the store. The ending was sooo rushed and there is no way she made the connection of senior home from the doorman saying no Nelly. If the bird's old owner was the doorman's grandma then maybe I see the connection but the way it played made zero sense. Was the guy named Ted and liked pets because of schitts creek's Ted? Other than these things it was the typical hallmark movie- "bad boyfriend" character , supportive friend, new guy she's instantly inlove with, another lady who likes the guy and hates the main character, under appreciated at work, and throw in the mystery of a bird that can only fly from the cage to couch yet flew up a whole apartment building into the window. Try harder hallmark.
