Way too much talking to the camera and narration for me. If the Medicis and the French Royalty were this much fun there wouldn't have been a revolution.
I lasted one episode. It's now the "in" thing to satirize history. It's not my thing. People will like the costumes and the scenery and the acting is good, and why do we have to have a modern tune as a backdrop?
Royals are in the news right now, after the death of QE2, and while I'm not a royalty fan (they have their role to play) I'd rather history educated us with appropriate entertainment when relevant.
I hope "Becoming Elizabeth" is better.
