The movie takes a bitter sweet take on the prevalent issue of violence perpetrated by men against women in marriage. Alia Bhatt plays her part to perfection as a wife torn between love for her abusive husband and punishing him. Shefali Shah is a treat to watch as a nosy but caring mother of Alia. One of the hilarious scenes in the movie is when the mother-daughter duo team up to strike a bargain price for a mixer. Vijay Varma plays his role brilliantly as a manipulative and abusive husband.
