Besides the first episode from season 1, this doesn't differentiate from the other first episodes. It re-introduces these characters, shows us what has happened to them since the past season and what's there situation now.
The only takeaways I had were the new stuff. The Hawkins Lab sequence in the beginning was good and the scenes involving Chrissy were quite interesting. It kept me hooked and excited for what's gonna come next.
