Great Guys Awful Design and Workmanship
29 June 2022
As an NCIDQ Interior Designer, I commend the idea of revitalizing neglected neighborhoods, but at what cost? Their design ideas are just bizarre, but more importantly, they do not have the expertise or the acumen to demo and construct in the trades. The quality of work that I have seen is atrocious. Do poor/lower middle class people not deserve quality housing? You can create affordable, while not doing dangerous. Do they waterproof the showers? Do they run proper copper? Do they insulate properly? I haven't seen anything that makes me think that they do. In fact, I see uneven tile, duplex covers that do not fully cover, paint slop on woodwork and floors. So if they do it that poorly on the outside, what do they do on the inside? Do they get inspected or do they get a pass because the city is so desperate to revitalize? How can they have a TV show? Do better HGTV.
