I expected this movie to be a comedy comedy, but I found myself relieved to be wrong. Instead of going for easy laughs and gags, Bujalski opted for real people in real situations. The result is an honest look at life in the service industry that earns laughs (and cringes) without ever being cliche or predictable. I did not relate to everybody, but I recognized them. There were moments when I wanted the movie to be either more comedy or more drama, but the film found its sweet spot in the middle.
