I have to admit, when I saw the title and the actors involved ... I thought this was just going to be another light comedy ... not that that is a bad thing. I was just not expecting what I got served in the end. Although I did suspect this may be more when I saw the rating average. 7.3 at the time of writing this is not too shabby as they say.
And it is well deserved and warranted to say the least. There are some moments that seem or maybe just feel ridiculous, but overall the movie has such a sweet flair and the heart in the right place. And the issues and problems that occur feel real too. Plus whatever you may think of Wahlberg, he really delivers here. Of course that is true for all involved. Especially all the mothers, daughters and actually every female member of the cast.
The movie is also inspired by true events (a true story). Do not roll your eyes though - it works more than nicely for this movie right here. It may have grounded the movie actually more than if someone just came up with something. Not sure if everything happened the way it is portrayed, but the actors and the script is so tight, it doesn't even matter. A nice and decent surprise that is able to warm your heart (if you have one - just kidding! It will warm your any heart)
