Headed for a honeymoon with a stranger...who may be a murderer?

A Gruen wrist watch, a dog and a Haarlem Lindy Hop at big Jim's...what doesn't this film noir have?

This film stars a very young and lean Robert Mitchum, Dean Jagger, and the real star Kim Hunter...who comes to town as a naïve newly honeymooner who married a man after only seeing him physically three times!

The man in question is a traveling salesman and asks her to meet him in New York, there she runs into an old beau who is also a traveling salesman. The old beau played by Robert Mitchum, initially thinks she is there for him as he sent her a letter asking her to come. She has to explain the confusion...meanwhile her husband seems to be missing and her old beau tries to help her find him including taking her to the police.

Meanwhile a murder has occurred of a wealthy man at a hotel that both men previously stayed at...can't tell you more but suspense and tension are built and maybe a twist is revealed in this newlywed noir.

There is a great lindy hop scene in Haarlem in a club called Big Jim's and a character slowly looses it at the end. The final scene brings the whole story full circle.

While not the best film noir, it was certainly interesting with a slightly different twist. I would recommend this film to any Robert Mitchum fans, Horologists, Lindy Hop fans or dance historians, and those hard core film noir fans!
