This has to be one of the most misleading titles among the B-Westerns/Singing Cowboy films- because My Pal Trigger really sells wholesomeness and sentimentality. Instead, this film involves horse murder, horse euthanasia Machiavellian mechanizations with characters-in context-who wear grey hats. This is an entertaining melodrama and its plot is a more complex than you usually get in this style of films. Rogers, "Gabby" and the rest of the cast are their charming selves. Worth checking out if you are a Western fan.
