As a 1.5 generation Taiwanese American who is very very Americanized, it was really nice to see a show on Netflix that showed a little sliver of life in Taiwan that touched on important ideas like artistic freedom, family, and occupation. I'm so glad that Minnan Hokkien was spoken too; I do not speak it, but hearing it was really nice.
