If there was ever a need to have a movie to show a totally unlikeable character, this one really fills the bill. The character "Thad" is the most obnoxious guy in the universe. In one scene in a restaurant when Alex is trying to get Thad to buy the house, Thad and his brother are telling jokes resulting in Thad saying to his brother "that was really funny, write yourself a check!" and "that was really funny, write me a check!" I liked Alan Ritchson in the movie Reacher. Comparing the two characters he plays in the two Blue Mountains and in Reacher is nothing short of impossible. I guess it's supposed to show what a good actor Ritchson really is. The other characters is this movie really stretch reality: Alex is a selfish conniving jerk; the dean is clueless; which coach is the coach? And Donnie is gay again with no story line to go with it.
Basically the plot here is that Thad will buy the Goat House if Alex will throw him the party to end all parties. When you see the resulting "party" it's obvious that Alex and company have spent more money on the party than what it would have cost to buy the Goat House several times over. Again, a reality check is needed. I'm sorry if I'm the only person to think this movie is stupid, but for me it started out stupid and then just got worse.
