Really MIT?! I couldn't get over the tiny "acceptance" letter- that's a rejection letter size! I didn't understand how she was being a thoughtful kid by hiding the fact she applied for college early and trying to set her dad up with this random lady so that she could go? Isn't this school insanely expensive? Didn't she need to pay a fee to apply? I can't stand how these movies make it look so easy to get into college or to do a PhD or be a full time prof by the time they are 23. Be realistic!
Aside from that, the story was boring. A broken car, a single available dad, a festival that saves the town needs a chef, the chef must get to her job across the country within a few days and it gets delayed and all is okay. Not sure why a town couldn't just buy potato chips instead of making it. And then the big conflict at 10 minutes prior to the end of the movie and it gets resolved instantly. I prefer the hallmark movie that has a similar title to this one.
