Absolutely silly story. A woman who has just given birth is told that her baby didn't survive. She subsequently spots little Rose Wilder and decides to kidnap her! The woman was able to do this because Laura and Almanzo were both involved with other matters, and didn't have time to watch their own child. Laura barely has a reaction, after discovering that Rose is missing. Eventually, Laura does scold Almonzo for his negligence, but it was too little and too late. She was also just as negligent herself. After searching a while, Laura, Almonzo and Edwards track down the disturbed woman that kidnapped Rose. She calmly admits having taken Rose. Nobody is particularly angry or upset. The woman, and her husband, pretty much say: "Sorry about that." Laura and Almanzo simply accept the apology, and even wind up leaving an orphaned little boy with this questionable husband and wife. Despite the obvious lapses in logic, there were, at least, two pretty ladies on screen. Laura had been irresponsible, but she looked so cute! Patricia Pearcy, as Mrs Norris, was another visual treat. Her character was disturbed, but she was so pretty, I didn't really care! What can I say? "Looks" absolutely do make a difference.
