Jerry buys an expensive suede jacket. They agree to meet Elaine's father who is a famous writer. He is however extremely awkward to talk to and cold. He looks at them funny when they order non-alcoholic drinks. Elaine comes later because she was helping give Jerry's neighbour a solid by sitting in his car. Her father asks who the lipstick is for and Elaine later says her father thinks everyone is gay.
