I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kids movies were darker when I was growing up. I remember loving this movie because of the giant, trouble making slobber machine and the family craziness. Did NOT remember the abducting dogs to turn them into medical experiments and lab rats. Everything ends happily, but these bad guys belong in a very special hell, a hell reserved for dog abusers and people who talk at the theater.
Still, enjoyed this more than I expected to. Those darker notes gave it more depth, more substance for my adult brain to chew on and that plus adorable dog is pretty much a win for me.
