Aunt Bee is a proud woman. She is the woman of the Taylor home and when she gets her mind made up will stand firm. In this episode she has a freezer that's on its last leg. Aunt Bee's best friend, Clara Edwards, suggests she buys 150 lbs of beef at a bargain price. What Aunt Bee doesn't know is the aged and well worn freezer is about to go down for the count. She buys the beef as the freezer does its best but takes a final breathe much to the chagrin of Aunt Bee. Aunt Bee does her best to find someone local to fix the ailing freezer (such as Gomer Pyle) but Pyle fails. The Sheriff repeatedly tells Aunt Bee to call the repairman from Mt Pilot but Aunt Bee believes he'll charge to much and balks at his recommendation. She finally relents and the repairman is brought in.
The repairman tells Andy that the freezer is on its last leg and recommends the Sheriff purchase a new freezer. Andy agrees. Aunt Bee, true to her personality, feels Andy could've purchased another freezer much cheaper. In the final scene she does her best to convince Andy that a less expensive freezer is out there.
