I was excited about this reboot; however, I would've preferred that they finish the original instead of moving forward with this one. I think they're trying so hard to be inclusive, that they're getting in the way of their own story.
I get that they wanted to show different perspectives, but they could do a lot better here if they focus on the story. Comparisons to the original are inevitable, so it's even more important that they work on telling a compelling story. So far, they've fallen short, but I'm hoping they get it together.
