Undisputed has been my early morning coffee past time since it debuted. Shannon Sharpe is a language rapid fire wit, engaging smile, passionate devotion to what he believes to be the facts of a topic. Skip Bayless speaks with the experience of an authentic journalist. Their give and take entertains me. But for years they have deep rut worn the subjects titled LeBron, Brady, and the Dallas Cowboys. They have engaged in discussions about racial issues in our nation. But digressions from the big three topics of their show are rare. They have yet to reach an audience of 200,000 viewers. That is remarkable to me.
They hold their own in a universe of less than 150,000 viewers and I wonder how many of those are new to the program. Undisputed has suffered too the loss of in studio guests who brought vigor, charm, humor and anger to the program. Sharpe and Bayless alone cannot and will not expand their audience beyond those of us who visit their show morning after morning.
