But it's really a lot more than that. The idea of Nightmare on Elm Street is so fascinating to hear. All the kids of elm street have been having nightmares of the same creepy man with knives for fingers. Over the course of the film, their realize their nightmare is a lot more than just a nightmare.

The character of Freddy Krueger is so thrilling to watch and the dream sequences feel endlessly creative. Since they're a dream, they don't have strict structural rules which adds to the film's atmosphere and intrigue.
