Janet (Ellen) runs the bookstore in town, owned by Helen (Kate Capshaw). When a long lost love letter turns up in the couch, everyone goes nuts; who sent it ? And who is it for ? Seems to be a love/hate romance budding between Helen and her much younger employee Johnny. Co-stars Blythe Danner, Tom Selleck and of course, christian harmony. Really. That letter keeps getting accidentally passed from person to person, causing misunderstandings. There's a sense of fun and adventure and whimsy, which is supported by the background music. Until near the end, when all the relationships start getting sorted out. Then the music gets more serious. Some twists and turns. Its quite good! Directed by hong kong director Ho-Sun Chan. Novel by Cathleen Schine... one of her two books made into film. Showing on epix channel. Very sweet film.
