Well, here it is folks.

The moment that Star Trek Voyager's ratings doubled.

We get a whole bunch of action in this 2 part episode but they manage to weave in a subplot about overcoming differences to achieve goals as the means of Voyagers ultimate salvation from the Borg.

Species 8179 was at times interesting but I have to admit that I do not find the ultimate motivation of 'kill everyone because we are evil' to be satisfactory.

Overall, it has enough going on to be an engaging action/adventure show and it does bring a character brimming with conflict into the ensemble.

There's just much to cerebral nourishment in this one so it falls short of masterclass to me and veers into the 'good' territory.

S3 Overall --------------------------------------------- Well, I am sad to report that Season 3 of Voyager ended up getting a 6.84 out of 10 as an average review score. This puts it above TNG Season 1 as the second lower reviewed season up to the point.

It wasn't all bad and it had plenty of 7's and 8's peppered throughout. It was brought down by having eight of the twenty six episodes scoring 6 or less.

The best episode by far was the one with Torres telepathically living through the genocide of a species.

I have my personal tastes and my preference seems to lean towards episodes that have one major plot that concentrates on one character by using a sci fi backdrop.
