Don't be misled by the film's title. "Stalked by My Neighbor" was an especially well photographed film with great camera angles and set-ups. The use of the camera by the protagonist, Jodi Allen, contributed to the cinematography, as well as the dramatic tension. It was much more than a "stalker" film.

Jodi suffered a brutal assault from an intruder at her mother's condo in West Hollywood. Andrea Allen has now moved with her daughter to a home in a "safe" neighborhood in suburbia. Of course, it is not safe at all after a kind neighbor, Lisa Miller, is murdered.

Jodi has captured images on her camera that may hold the key to understand who killed Lisa. The first suspect is Nick Thompkin, who would appear to have a motive because Lisa had called the cops on him and put him out of business working on cars illegally out of his home. But appearances can be deceiving, as Jodi soon discovers.

The most interesting relationship in the film is the improbable romance that develops between the wiseacre Nick and Jodi. Their scenes together were terrific, beginning with their first dance at the club where Jodi has followed him.

In addition to the good chemistry between Jodi and Nick, there was a heartfelt relationship between Jodi and her mom, who was traumatized by the earlier assault possibly as much as her daughter. Kristen Chambers, the niece of the deceased neighbor, holds the key to unraveling the mystery.

There was a devilish tongue-in-cheek approach to the drama implicit in the snappy dialogue that was well-played by the excellent cast. There was a nifty denouement with Jodi and her auto mechanic friend waxing philosophical about the circumstances of their meeting. Form and content combined for a well-crafted film.
