Classic friends and newer worse friends.
Whenever I think it's gonna be a good episode, they interject with annoyances.
Whenever I think it's solidly newer worse friends, they deliver a more classic line with vintage delivery.
So...I have to give this a 6. I can't reward it with a 7.
I want to give it a 7...then they disappoint.
Then I'm like...ugh. This is more like a 5...then they drop something excellent. So 6 it is.
This is very Dr Jekyll Mr Hyde.
It's like the old writing team and the new writing team traded back and forth. You do a scene, we do a scene.
I disliked Phoebe character for so long when I originally watched the show, and that annoyance followed Phoebe for a long time, so anytime I watched her, I watched it through phoebe hating eyes. It was later on that I came to appreciate/tolerate/enjoy Phoebe.
But here, it's an example of Phoebe at her annoyingest. It's fine for the character, I just don't care for it.
Side note of no consequence...and can't really even tell in this episode.
Does Joey never wear a belt? If so, why not? Is that some sort of common knowledge I'm not aware of...or has no one ever caught that or made a big deal about it?
